Topic:

Strengthening Family Businesses in South Australia Through the PEDaL Program: Enhancing Personal Effectiveness, Development, and Leadership

Session Overview:

Family businesses form the backbone of South Australia’s economy, but they often face complex and deeply personal challenges — from succession planning and governance to navigating intergenerational dynamics.

The Personal Effectiveness, Development and Leadership (PEDaL) Program, developed by Blue Jam, offers a tailored and transformative approach to these issues. PEDaL equips family members with the skills and insights needed to grow personally and professionally, ensuring long-term success for both the business and the family behind it.

What You’ll Learn:

Join Martin Pike to explore how PEDaL supports the growth, resilience, and sustainability of South Australian family businesses through:

  1. Leadership Succession & Continuity – Preparing the next generation to lead with confidence.

  2. Improved Communication & Relationship Management – Building trust, reducing friction, and improving collaboration.

  3. Enhanced Personal Effectiveness – Strengthening self-awareness, accountability, and time management.

  4. Strategic Thinking & Long-Term Planning – Shifting focus from day-to-day operations to future-proofing the business.

  5. Support for Non-Family Executives – Clarifying roles and fostering cohesion within the leadership team.

  6. Preserving Legacy While Driving Innovation – Balancing tradition and change across generations.

About the Speaker:

Martin Pike is a highly experienced Strategic Facilitator with over 30 years of experience in business strategy, advisory, and consulting. Since joining Blue Jam in 2023, he has helped expand its capacity to deliver strategic and accomplishment-driven outcomes to clients across South Australia and beyond.

Martin has held senior roles as a director and shareholder and has advised clients across a diverse range of industries, including tourism, food & beverage, construction, civil engineering, manufacturing, retail, and recreation. He is also deeply experienced in working with First Nations businesses in both South Australia and the Northern Territory.

In 1997, Martin relocated to Darwin to lead a business management consulting practice under the NT Government's Business Growth Program. His success in the Territory led to his involvement with the Indigenous Business Australia advisory panel and the Indigenous Economic Program.

Driven by a genuine passion for understanding how businesses work — and what holds them back — Martin brings clarity, insight, and strategic direction to every client engagement.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys travelling and spending time on the water — especially sailing, whether for leisure or competition.
