Catherine Sayer
Catherine is the CEO of Family Business Association, the pre-eminent membership-based organisation representing family businesses which account for 70% of all businesses in Australia. With more than 1.4 million family businesses of all shapes and sizes – small, medium and large Catherine focusses on raising the profile of the sector. Catherine is the previous CEO of Food South Australia Inc., and is Chair of Seafood Industry Australia.
Simon Papagiorcopulo
Simon Papagiorcopulo joined ANZ in April 2024 to help manage the bank’s geopolitical risk function. In this role he produces tailored geopolitical risk assessments and advises management and clients. He supports portfolio and exposure reviews, stress tests, and crisis and response planning, as well as developing tools to enhance ANZ strategic risk management.
Previously, Simon worked for the Australian Government in strategic assessments, the University of Melbourne on Australia-India relations, and led a startup producing geopolitical risk analysis.
Simon was born in Melbourne and lived in Europe and the Middle East before completing secondary school in Australia. He has degrees in international relations and law from the Australian National University, where he specialised in Middle Eastern studies and international law.
Tom Kenny
Tom provides research and analysis of the international economic environment for ANZ’s corporate and institutional clients. He regularly presents on the Australian and global economic outlooks to internal and external clients.
Before joining ANZ, Tom was the Chief Economist at Nomura Australia, where he forecasted and researched the Australian economy, foreign exchange, and interest rates. Tom has also worked at the Commonwealth Treasury, and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
Tom holds a Master of Economics (Hons) from the University of Western Australia, and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
