  • Gain insights into the political backdrop domestically and how the issues for our own policymakers are similar to those facing the global economy.
  • Find out what these challenges mean for markets and investment portfolios and what steps should you consider so as to run businesses and invest successfully through this shifting policy paradigm

Speakers: Veronica Kregor, State Head, ANZ Private Bank

Veronica is a highly motivated professional with >30yrs experience in the Finance Industry across Private Bank, Institutional, Commercial, Agribusiness, International Trade Finance and Risk & Governance.

Veronica sits on a number of boards including the FINSIA QLD Regional Council, is part of the QLD Govt & QUT “Queensland Connects” Program focused on building Disaster Resilience in QLD communities, and is the QLD State Lead for the ANZ Community Foundation (a foundation that delivers >$400k in grants annual to worthy causes across Australian communities.


Catherine Birch, ANZ Senior Economist


Catherine is a Senior Economist in the Australian economics team at ANZ Research.

She provides research, analysis and forecasts on inflation, wages, infrastructure, ESG, and the broader Australian and global economies.

Prior to joining ANZ in 2019, Catherine was a Senior Policy Adviser/Economist for the Victorian Government, an Environmental Economist for the Namibia Nature Foundation, and an Economic Analyst for BIS Oxford Economics.


Lakshman Anantakrishnan, ANZ Chief Investment Officer

Lakshman is ANZ Private’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and he is responsible for the portfolio management, construction, and asset allocation of ANZ Private’s +$9 billion in Funds under Advice.

Lakshman has more than 20 years of experience spanning the asset management and private wealth industry. Lakshman joined ANZ after serving as CIO at AMP Ltd, where he focused on advising Superannuation Trustees on performance improvement and the restructuring of AMP’s investments business. Prior to this, Lakshman was Head of Portfolio Management at Credit Suisse, spending close to a decade managing global multi-asset portfolios across various risk profiles. During this time, he designed and managed bespoke mandates, ranging from $50 million to $750 million, on behalf of some of Australia’s largest family offices and philanthropic foundations. He has considerable experience in institutional investing, having managed funds for Principal Global Investors and BT Investment Management (now Pendal).
