iDrive Relocations Ltd is a second generation family business who offer door to door vehicle delivery anywhere in New Zealand. We had a chat with Rachel Callister to learn more about the family business, what sets them apart in their industry and any advice she had for other family businesses.
What makes your family business unique?
We aim to offer the fastest, friendliest vehicle delivery in the country. As we use drivers and not trucks, we are agile and can pick up and deliver vehicles across the country. Our drivers are retired and semi-retired so they have the time to take all care with vehicles, and personally hand over keys, at an agreed time.
How many generations are currently in your family business?
Two - it was started by my Dad in 2011 and I joined in 2022. My brother worked there for a time and many family members have helped over the years with vehicle deliveries! Mum is also Dad’s critical sounding board and driver as needed.
How long have you been an FBA Member and what’s the key benefit/advantage of your FBA membership?
We have been members for about 18 months. I enjoy the networking and mentoring opportunities offered by the FBA, plus the opportunity to discuss similar challenges that are unique to working with family members.
What piece of advice you would offer another family business?
Join FBA now! Go along to the meet the owner events. Attend courses online to upskill yourself.
